Trout Unlimited in North Carolina
As a “grass-roots” organization, the chapter is the heart and soul of the Trout Unlimited experience, and each chapter is as unique as the people and geography it serves. When you join TU, you’re automatically assigned to a chapter and are a full member – there are no additional fees, dues or anything else you have to pay or do to enjoy every benefit of chapter membership. It’s where you’ll meet conservation-minded neighbors, make fishing buddies and have a chance to learn more about and get involved in projects that directly affect your home waters.
If you’ve joined TU and haven’t connected with your chapter yet, we encourage you to do so. Sometimes an email or a phone call is all it takes to get started on a lifelong path of fun, friendship and service; and you’ll learn more about upcoming meetings and opportunities to connect to the chapter through its outings and engagement programs.
If you live in or are considering a move to the Old North State and aren’t sure which chapter is yours, click on one of the counties in the map below. You’ll be taken to a summary page about that chapter and given a chance to learn more by visiting its social media outlets and websites, plus you’ll see a list of contact information where you can get in touch with someone personally to learn more.
To find out which of our fine chapters is assigned to the county where you live, please use the map below. You’ll be taken to a page on our website where you can learn more.
Please note that the chapter/county relationships are approximated. TU does not assign specific counties to specific chapters.
Because North Carolina is a big state and some of the chapter geographies are expansive, you may find it’s a drive to your assigned chapter’s usual meeting spot. Ask your chapter’s president about carpooling and ride sharing to and from meetings. TU members are a friendly bunch and are generally happy to have the company – so don’t let that stop you from attending meetings or events and getting involved!
You may also choose to move your membership from time to time – perhaps another area chapter better suits your needs or you move to a different area, for instance. Changing your affiliation is as simple as contacting your chapter membership chair or president, or the member services coordinator at Trout Unlimited’s national offices.
